Fields
Change the fields of a collection: rename, add, hide, remove, calculate, and count.

Edit fields
Open a collection, tap ⋯, and choose Edit fields. Changes apply only to this collection; the standard template stays as it is.
- Tap a field to rename it or change its settings.
- Add field at the end of a section adds a field there; Add section adds a section of its own.
- The minus in front of a field removes it from this collection. Its values stay on every piece, and it waits under Removed fields until you add it back.
- Edit at the top left lets you drag fields into a new order.
- Tap the check mark at the top right when you are done.
The fields under Every piece, such as the purchase or the place, can be removed and added back the same way. Only the name stays: every piece needs one.
Kinds of fields
A new field can be Text (with Several lines if you like), Number, Date, Amount, Choice, Stars, Yes or no, Link, Quantity, Measurement, Linked item, or Calculation. Once pieces have a value in a field, its type cannot change.
Choices can be hidden: a hidden choice is no longer offered, but stays on the pieces that use it.
Sensitive, required, and duplicates
- Sensitive: the value is hidden until you tap it and left out of exports unless you include it. Serial numbers, VINs, and certificate numbers are sensitive from the start.
- Required: a piece cannot be saved without it.
- Use for duplicate check: when a new piece has the same value, Kuriosa says that you may already own it.
Calculation fields
A calculation works out a value from two others, for example "Price per bottle = Purchase price ÷ Bottles". Choose the First value, the sign (Plus, Minus, Times, or Divided by), and the Second value or a Fixed number. Kuriosa calculates it whenever it is shown; it cannot be typed in, and it stays empty while a value is missing.
Key facts and tiles
- Key facts on cards at the top of Edit fields chooses up to three facts for the gallery cards and list rows. Sensitive fields are never shown on cards.
- In the grid, Sort and filter › On the tiles chooses up to two lines under each name. Where a piece has nothing, its tile shows a dash, so all tiles keep the same shape.
Counting
For things you count, such as bottles of wine or coins of the same kind, a collection can have a Count under Every piece. Wine, coins, stamps, and custom collections count from the start; in other collections, add Count back under Removed fields. Tap it to name the unit, for example "bottle" and "bottles". The count then follows the journal, and Kuriosa shows the price per unit.
