Photos and files
Photos, cut-outs, and documents such as receipts and certificates.

Add photos
In the editor of a piece, tap Photos to choose pictures from your library, or Camera to take one. After the first photo, the strip of photos has a + and a camera tile for more.
Before a photo is saved, Kuriosa re-encodes it and removes its location, camera, and other hidden details. Photos are stored encrypted.
Cut-outs
Kuriosa can lift the object off its background, so that it stands in the showcase like in a museum. When you add a photo, choose Original or Cut out. Removing the background happens on your iPhone; nothing is sent to the internet. The original is always kept, and you can switch between the two later.
Edit a photo
On a piece's page, tap the crop button on the photo, or choose Edit photo in the ⋯ menu.
- Original or Cut out switches the version that is shown.
- Rotate turns the photo by a quarter turn.
- Drag the corners to crop. Shape sets the frame to Like the photo, Square, or Keep this shape.
- Reset goes back to the photo as it was taken.
The photo itself is never changed: rotation and cropping are stored with it and applied when it is shown. One Undo takes back the whole edit.
Order, main photo, and back
In the editor, tap a photo to edit or move it. The first photo is the main photo: Use as main photo, Move left, or Move right change the order, and Remove photo takes it off.
Coins and other flat pieces show their front and back side by side on a tray. Add the back under Back, or choose Use as back for a photo.
On a piece's page, tap a photo to see it full screen, and pinch to zoom.
Files
Receipts, certificates, appraisals, and manuals go under Files in the editor: tap Add receipt, certificate, or manual, then Scan with camera or Choose from Files. Scanned pages become one PDF. Author, software, and other hidden details are removed from every document, and documents are stored encrypted.
Password-protected PDFs cannot be added.
Removed photos and files
A photo or file you remove is kept, so that Undo can bring it back. To free the space for good, see Your data in Backups.
