Collections

Create collections and sub-collections, choose how they look, and keep them in order.

Create a collection

  1. On the Collections tab, tap + at the top right.
  2. Choose a category. Each one brings fields that fit it, for example reference and caliber for watches or vintage and region for wine. A custom collection starts with no fields of its own.
  3. Once you have changed the fields of a collection, it is also offered under Same fields as, so a new collection can start with the same fields.
  4. Check the name and tap Create.

You can change the fields at any time. See Fields.

Sub-collections

A collection can hold other collections, as deep as you like, for example the straps of your watches. Open a collection, tap ⋯, and choose New sub-collection. Sub-collections appear as chips at the top of their collection, and their pieces count towards the totals of the collection above them.

The filter button at the top of a collection opens Sort and filter. Its first row is the layout:

  • Gallery: one large card at a time. Swipe for the next piece.
  • Grid: tiles. Under On the tiles you choose up to two lines to show under each name.
  • List: rows, quick to read.

Each collection keeps its own layout.

The watches as a grid of tiles.

Sort and filter

In the same sheet, sort by Recently added, Purchase date, Name, or Value, and filter by Favorites, status, place, or tag. Clear filters shows everything again. With Show sold items dimmed, sold and given-away pieces stay in view, dimmed; otherwise they are hidden.

Arrange the Collections tab

The filter button on the Collections tab arranges the collections themselves: as Covers, a Grid, or a List; in your Own order, by Name, Most items, Value, or Recently changed. For your own order, hold a collection by its handle in the sheet and drag it into place. Hide empty collections leaves out collections without pieces.

Cover, name, and place

The ⋯ menu of a collection also holds:

  • Cover photo …: the photo of one of its pieces, a picture of your own (Choose from Photos or Take photo), or Automatic, which shows its most valuable piece with a photo.
  • Rename.
  • Move to …: puts the collection inside another one, or back at the Top level.
  • Delete collection: its pieces and sub-collections are deleted too. Tap Undo in the banner right afterwards, or undo it later in Activity.
