Journal

Purchases, use, sales, loans, and services of a piece, with its count and status.

One journal per piece

Everything that happens to a piece goes into its journal: a purchase, use, a sale, a gift, a loan, a service, a return, or a loss. The journal sits on the piece's page with its newest entries first; Show all (…) opens the whole list.

Add an entry

  1. On a piece's page, tap Add entry under Journal, or choose it in the ⋯ menu or the quick menu.
  2. Choose What happened: Purchase, Used, Sold, Given away, Lent out, At service, Returned, or Lost.
  3. Add what you know: the Date, the price, the other party (the source, the buyer, or whom you lent it to), a Due date for a loan or a service, and a Note.
  4. Tap the check mark.

Tap an entry to change it, or Delete entry to remove it.

The status follows the journal

The newest entry sets the piece's status. Lent out and At service mark it as away; Returned brings it back into the collection. Sold, Given away, and Lost take it out of the values in the Overview. Sold and given-away pieces are shown dimmed in their collection, or hidden if you choose so in Display.

A loan or a service with a Due date has a bell for a reminder.

Things you count

In a collection that counts, such as wine by the bottle, the piece's page shows its Count at the top, with a minus and a plus next to it:

  • The plus records a purchase, the minus a use (Record use).
  • A sale or a loss of part of the count takes only that part.
  • Kuriosa shows the price per unit from the purchases, for example "CHF 32 per bottle".

To count in another collection, add Count back under Removed fields in Edit fields and name the unit. See Fields.

Several purchases

When you buy more of the same piece, add another Purchase entry. The purchase price of the piece becomes the total of its purchases.
